Diabetes Education Programs

Our Diabetes Education Program includes an initial interview, 3-4 sessions utilizing personal goals and follow-up. The topics covered include an overview of diabetes, blood glucose monitoring, lifestyle modification, oral medication, insulin, long-term complications and tips for self-monitoring.

Blood Glucose Meter Training includes assistance in meter selection, overview of supplies, instruction for regular use of the meter, interpretation of test results and follow-up to other health care professionals if requested.

Blood Glucose Meter Downloading includes downloading data from select meters using special software and providing in appropriate format for you, your physician or other health care providers.

Insulin Injection Training includes overview of various insulin types, instruction for proper use, storage and mixing of insulins, step-by-step instruction for injection of insulin and follow up to other health care providers if requested.

Smoking Cessation Programs

Our program includes review of nicotine replacement options, assistance in identifying smoking triggers, discussion of lifestyle modifications, review of the benefits of being smoke free and monitoring of progress.

Asthma Education Programs

Education includes overview of asthma, discussion of asthma triggers, goals of therapy, overview of asthma medications, review of inhaler technique, peak flow monitoring and use of nebulizers, and follow-up communication to other health care providers if requested.

Lifestyle Modification Program

Take Charge™  Lifestyle Modification Program is a comprehensive program that focuses on nutrition and disease prevention.  The program is a proven system consisting of patient education, weekly counseling sessions, self-taught client manuals, all natural functional foods, moderate physical activity and body composition monitoring.

Pharmaceutical Care

Pharmaceutical Care is a practice in which our pharmacists focus on you and your medication related needs, not just your prescriptions.  Our pharmacists will take time to meet with you and discuss your medication therapy.  We will also work with you and all of your health care providers to set goals for your therapy.  In addition, you can expect our pharmacists to follow-up with you on a consistent basis and help ensure the best possible results from your medications.

Weekly Planner Service

We set up your medications on a weekly basis in an easy to use planner.  We facilitate obtaining your prescription refills and process medication changes.  This service provides peace of mind for patients, family and caretakers.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

Blood pressure may be taken manually by a pharmacist using a mercury sphygmomanometer and recorded for patient and/or health care providers.

Delivery Service

We deliver Monday through Friday (10AM-5PM) throughout the Cedar Rapids Metro area. Prescription delivery is free of charge.  Over-the-counter only orders must meet minimum value for free delivery.  Our dependable and courteous drivers provide a very valuable service to many patients in the community.

Prescription Mailing

Many of our customers enjoy the convenience of our prescription mailing service.  You will find this to be a great service, whether you live outside of our delivery area, need refills when you are away for the winter, or are traveling and forgot to pack your medications.
